Reactions
What
does wood burning, leaves decaying, and iron rusting have in common?
Well
they are all undergoing a reaction.
What
is a reaction? Just like the name implies, a reaction is something reacting
with another something. In a reaction there are one or more reactors and one or
more products in the end.
For
instance the iron is reacting with the oxygen in the air. The two are
undergoing a chemical change where they both
are becoming
different. They are reacting with one another to form a different product.
Reactions
are governed, or driven by, energy. In other words a reaction wouldn’t occur without
energy giving it a reason to.
